Zombie Campaign from the CDC!

If you enjoy a serious dose of humour in your business continuity awareness programme, you’re going to love these free Zombie Attack resources  from the US Centre for Disease Control (CDC)!

Let’s be honest, it can be tricky to make business continuity awareness initiatives noticeable enough to gain the attention of staff for whom it’s not a priority.   That’s why we love that the CDC has issued these brilliant tongue-in-cheek Zombie Attack posters and comic – all available as free downloads – that will capture imaginations in the dullest of elevators, hallways and watercooler stations – and highlight your business continuity initiative to all.

The serious idea behind the campaign is the idea explained by the CDC’s Dr. Ali Khan:  ”If you are generally well equipped to deal with a zombie apocalypse you will be prepared for a hurricane, pandemic, earthquake, or terrorist attack.”

Business Continuity is a serious business, but bringing smiles to people’s faces while you make them think about it is a really good strategy for bringing people into the fold in a gentle, humorous way.

The CDC ask you to ” log on, get a kit, make a plan, and be prepared!”

We suggest you download all the posters – or, if you’re in the US, you can order free printed posters directly from the CDC – and consider ways in which you could utilise them in your own organisation.  Ideas might include:

  • Posters in lifts, hallways and meeting areas
  • Emailing posters to business continuity champions
  • Including a lighthearted link to the comic in your email signature
  • Using the graphics as a screensaver

*Be aware that the CDC posters are extremely hi resolution: this is so they’ll print as lovely, big posters but they will take some time to view download!
