Recoverability = R x P x C

Management often calls for us to provide a measure of our preparedness and to be able to predict the likelihood of “recoverability”.

Many of us think these are impossible questions to answer, since the variables are so diverse.

However,  David Lindstedt (PhD, PMP, CBCP) and John Smith (ABCP) have offered a paper that includes an equation:

Recoverability = R x P x C

Put simply, Lindstedt and Smith argue that recoverability consists of: resources, procedures, and competencies (RPC), and that the state of preparedness for recoverability can be ascertained by measuring these three factors.
