As part of Business Continuity Awareness Week 2012, Game Scenario Networks are offering everyone the opportunity to use their new online incident simulation game.
Designed for up to 6 players, users make multiple choice decisions to manage a mock incident as it unfolds in the game. They designed it with the Business Continuity Institute. Since it’s launch in March 2011, over 800 teams have played the game. Between 13-23 March 2012, you can use it too – for free.
Each player adopts one of the following roles: Company Director, IT Director, HR Director, Production Manager or Business Continuity Manager – though you may choose not to use all the roles, or allow players to play more than one role each. Participants make decisions in limited amounts of time to move the organisation’s response forward. Upon completion of the ‘game’ the team gets a score, which will be compared with the scores of other teams playing during the week.
The scenario on offer is a flooding incident with a supply chain failure and will require players to think about practical arrangements and reputational issues. (If you’re organizing a team, you might find it useful to not share the scenario with your team.)
