Do you take photographs of your teams managing disasters? Neither do we! But a new competition is calling for entries from those of you who do.
We endeavour to take photographs during exercises and rehearsals that we run with our crisis response teams. However, none of us have ever taken photographs during a real incident we’ve been involved with. Apparently some people do, however, and the Emergency Management Academy have proclaimed themselves so “sick of disaster management being represented by photos of first responders!” that they’ve launched a competition.
Here’s what they’re looking for:
“From April 1st, 2012-July 1st, 2012, the Academy is soliciting the best photos of people visually identifiable as Disaster Managers engaged in mitigation, preparedness, response, or recovery. Visually identifiable means that we can tell they’re disaster managers by looking at the photo.”
