15 October 2011 – Protest?

Are there going to be protests in cities around the world on 15 October 2011, or will the non-organisers of this event find little active support?

The creators of 15October.net want a non-violent global day of protest to “reclaim democracy from the ruling elite”.   Mainly concentrating on cities, they suggest there will be activity from “America to Asia, from Africa to Europe”.

Other intelligence suggests a possible Wall Street ‘occupation’ campaign with a similar event possibly planned for London’s Stock Exchange building.

If you want to keep an eye on this one, there’a map of planned protests and they plan on publicising events via Twitter with the hashtag #globalchange.

[UPDATE on MON 31 OCTOBER 2011: The "Occupy" campaign has staged over the course of several weeks, and is ongoing in a number of countries.  See wikipedia for details!]
